Moving During the Coronavirus Pandemic
Introducing HOOD Contactless Moves. The world isn't going to stop turning in a pandemic, and neither is the task of moving house. Moving, moved on.
A Message About COVID-19
Updated August 5, 2020
We’ve had restrictions in place for 5 months now, and it’s affected Melburnians in many ways and brought about many tough decisions for a lot of people where moving many have not been part of the plan.
However, the world isn’t going to stop turning in a pandemic, and neither is the task of moving house. It’ll be a bit of a challenge, but we are all finding ways to adapt and set in place the new level of standards for our businesses and services in order to increase our preparedness for the future.
As we navigate through these crazy times of the global COVID-19 pandemic together, implementing precautionary measures is our number one goal to protect the health and safety of our customers and suppliers.
Moving is Essential
You don’t have to perform a magic one-person show if you’re trying to move house, but you also probably can’t recruit an army of friends and neighbours to help right now.
Transport and logistics are classified as essential services nationwide, so removalists can still operate. They can enter your home to perform their services, although you’ll need to practice social distancing.
Car hire companies are still operating across Australia. Make sure you check the company’s website to find your nearest one, as some may be temporarily closed.
If you’re planning to get a friend to help you move, please remember to follow the nationwide social distancing guidelines and two-person rule (which is being applied slightly differently by each state and territory).
HOOD Offers Contactless Moves
HOOD is already equipped with essential measurements to manage the coronavirus transmission risk. For example, by providing a virtual estimate rather than having to do an in-person estimate, mitigates the risk of contracting or spreading the virus during a move. With the help of Molly AI, Homemovers can easily provide a detailed job request, while getting real-time cost estimations, for full transparency. Removalists receive the requests through the Job Card feature, outlining all the moving details, for a quick and easy virtual estimate.
We are keeping up-to-date with advice from relevant Government Departments to ensure that our services comply with all recommendations.
